About David Foley

Profile & Experience Summary

David has over 35 years experience in Governance, Risk and Compliance, Projects & Programmes and Quality Management and training. His experience is across a variety of industries and business sectors and covers a number of technologies and disciplines.

He previously worked for Fujitsu in Ireland (formerly DMR Consulting and Amdahl) for almost 22 years, having worked prior to that as a Project & Programme Manager for IBM in the UK for almost ten years.

With his broad experience, David has provided project and programme management consultancy to many clients and has helped a number of them to develop their own project and programme approaches and methodologies. He has also helped clients to implement project and programme offices, along with project portfolio management, and has provided audit services to enable clients to assess their project management maturity against a number of Project Management Maturity Models.

David has provided detailed Projects and Programmes and Quality Management training for clients. He has developed a series of Project & Programme Management courses that cover the complete project life cycle, from initiation and planning, through executing and controlling to closing. These training events include courses that compliment both the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®)*, as defined by the Project Management Institute (PMI®)*, and also the PRINCE2®** methodology.

David is a member of the Project Management Institute and has contributed to the writing of "A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) since 2004. His most recent contributions are published in the sixth edition. 

David has an MBA (Technology Management) from the Open University.
